Description

The Campus Center, housed within Hammond Hall, offers itself as a place where students can spend time socializing and expanding themselves outside the classroom. Hammond Hall houses everything from offices and services for students, to the Gallucci-Cirio Library, North Street Bistro and the Bookstore.

The Building Manager role is the highest student level position one can attain with the Hammond Campus Center, with primary responsibilities including oversight of student worker performance, facility security, and customer service and event support for all events and reservations within Hammond Hall.


Requirements:

Requirements

  • Provide frontline oversight of all operations and student staff within the Campus Center
  • Regularly circulate the building to assist guests with reservations, reset furniture,check in, and provide assistance to other areas in the Campus Center
  • Properly enforce all Campus Center and University policiesand becomfortable addressing performance concerns with peer staff members
  • Remain vigilant of the buildingand properly open and close the Campus Center
  • Provide excellent customer service and event support by checking room setups, complete AV setups, and any other needs stated in the Event Management System (EMS) reservation
  • Must communicate effectively and proactively with event coordinators ranging from fellow students, faculty, staff, upper administration, and external guests
  • Must be knowledgeable about the physical layout of the Campus Center, along with the offices and services housed in the facility
  • Able and ready to assist in other student-staffed areas when needed (i.e., Information Desk, Event Support Staff, Office Staff, etc.)
  • Must be willing to work both individually and with a team
  • Submit detailed shift logs of all activities that took place, whether it be equipment that was used or concerns that arose on shift
  • Flexibility and the ability to work well autonomously and on a team
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
