Job Details:

SUMMARY:

The FSQA lead assists the FSQA lead in overseeing the shift inspectors and ensuring that food products manufactured or processed by the company comply with Food Safety and Specification Adherence standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the activities of FSQA Technicians and addressing issues with the appropriate supervision members.

  • Ensuring personal and food safety, and completing any additional assignments requested.

  • Working with beef, poultry, and pork products, as well as other potential allergens.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily Planning: Receive and implement daily plans from the FSQA Manager by breaking them down into detailed work assignments for FSQA Technicians.

  • Supervision: Participate in daily work assignments to cover vacations of the 3rd shift Supervisor, days off, or other absences.

  • Briefings: Meet with FSQA Management and FSQA Technicians on both shifts to discuss assignments, production schedules, and areas requiring extra attention.

  • Training: Responsible for the training and proficiency development of all FSQA Technicians.

  • Record Review: Review daily FSQA records for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established requirements.

  • Issue Investigation: Investigate nonconformances identified during the shift, ensure non-conforming products are properly isolated and addressed, and identify the cause of the problem.

  • Reporting: Inform the FSQA Manager and Sr. HACCP Supervisor of all Quality & Food Safety issues identified during the shift in a timely manner.

  • Inspection: Inspect products to ensure compliance with order specifications, quality control systems, legal requirements, and shipping/packing standards.

  • Compliance: Understand and perform all duties in accordance with USDA, company policy, and established procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED; preferably one to two years of college or related experience.

  • Experience: FSQA experience preferred.

  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.

  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills.

  • Certification: Relevant certifications as required.

2nd Shift Work Schedule Details:

  • Normal Hours: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

Sunday Coverage (Every Other Week):

    • Work every other Sunday to perform Pre-op tasks before the 3rd shift starts.

    • This alternates weekly with the 2nd shift FSQA technician.

Weekly Rotation:

  • Week A: Sunday – Thursday

  • Week B: Monday – Friday

Shift Flexibility:

  • Hours may vary if coverage is needed during the 3rd shift. In such cases, start time will be adjusted later, with the shift extending until 2:30 AM.
