Job summary

Foster Farms is hiring for a Food Safety and Quality Assurance role in California. You will support FSQA management, monitor production, and perform routine FSQA checks to ensure compliance with company, FSIS/USDA, and customer requirements.

The position requires clear English communication, basic computer skills (Excel/Word/Outlook), and flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays. Physical work includes standing for long periods and lifting up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must communicate clearly in English (written and verbal) and document corrective actions.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficient with computer tools including Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Good organization skills and legible handwriting.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet monitoring timeframes.
• Must be willing to rotate into various departments with varying QC duties.

Responsibilities

• Works under FSQA management guidance to ensure compliance with Foster Farms, FSIS/USDA, and customer requirements.
• Monitor the production process and perform routine FSQA checks to keep the process in control and the product within standards.
• Ensure compliance to Food Safety systems through monitoring of process and documentation.
• Ensure compliance to QA process controls through monitoring and documentation.
• Ensure food safety documentation meets regulatory requirements.
• Direct product disposition, including inventory control and reconditioning procedures.
• Verify sanitation practices through pre-operational inspection of equipment.
• Communicate to production/maintenance personnel to resolve quality and food safety issues.
• Coordinate with USDA personnel to resolve regulatory issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
