Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician to uphold high standards of safety and quality in our plant. You will perform physical and visual inspections, document results, and take corrective actions to protect product integrity.

The role requires reading specifications, strong communication, and the ability to work under varying temperatures and shifts. Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or GED and one year of QA-related experience in food

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication required.
• Able to read and interpret product specifications.
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends; Lock Out Tag Out certification may be required.

Job Summary

Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

• Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
• Documenting and calculating results accurately.
• Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
• Handling additional assignments as requested.

Working Conditions

• Environment: Normal for a food manufacturing setting.
• Physical Requirements: Involves lifting materials and products up to 75 pounds.
• Safety Equipment: Use of steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks is required.
• Restrictions: Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.

Education

High school diploma or GED.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.

Communication Skills

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.

Physical Requirements

• Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs
• Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
• Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit
• Must be able to work in wet environment
• Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling
• Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently
• Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification
