Job summary

Tyson Foods in Shelbyville, TN is hiring an FSQA Tech to uphold top food safety and quality standards. You will inspect products and plant systems, document results, and take corrective actions to ensure compliance and safety.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year in food manufacturing or QA-related work. Strong verbal and written communication is essential; ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work 2nd shift in a variable temperature environment.

Job Summary

As a FSQA Tech you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
• Documenting and calculating results accurately.
• Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
• Handling additional assignments as requested.

Working Conditions

• Environment: Normal for a food manufacturing setting.
• Physical Requirements: Involves lifting materials and products up to 75 pounds.
• Safety Equipment: Use of steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses (where required), hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks is required.
• Restrictions: Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.

  • Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Must be able to work in wet environment
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently
  • Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
