Job summary

JBS Prepared Foods in Perry, IA is seeking a FSQA Systems Manager to lead and maintain all facility-wide food safety and quality documentation, HACCP, SSOP, and SQF systems, ensuring audit readiness for USDA/FSIS inspections.

You will supervise document control, CAPA, data analysis, and continuous improvement with the FSQA leadership, providing training to QA technicians and production staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive FSQA experience in meat or food manufacturing.
• Experience with SQF or other GFSI schemes and regulatory audits preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of USDA/FSIS regulations, HACCP principles, GMPs, sanitation, and microbiological principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems; SAP or similar ERP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory & Program Compliance - Maintain FSQA systems (HACCP, SSOP, GMP, SQF) to ensure full regulatory compliance.
• Serve as primary contact for USDA/FSIS and third-party audit documentation requests; support on-site audit processes.
• Verify compliance with FSIS directives, company policies, and customer requirements via regular review of plant programs and records.
• Document Control & Record Management - Administer document control for FSQA procedures, training records, and QA metrics.
• Ensure timely completion, filing, and retention of all food-safety-related forms and logs.
• Manage corrective action documentation and follow-up per standards.
• Data Analysis & Reporting - Compile FSQA metrics and report trends and findings to leadership.
• Monitor process validation data and update trending reports for internal/regulatory use.
• System Verification & Continuous Improvement - Conduct regular system verifications and audits; support SQF certification maintenance.
• Training & Support - Provide system-related training for QA technicians, supervisors, and other personnel.
• Act as resource for FSQA systems, programs, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in root-cause investigations and assist with customer responses and project work.
