Job description

Position Summary:
The FSQA Supervisor I will support the effective implementation of the Quality Management System. The FSQA Supervisor will support the ongoing review & development of all Food Safety & Quality Assurance programs and ensure they meet applicable regulations and standards.

What you’ll do:

  1. Develop and implement local site documents with oversight from direct supervisor.
  2. Interact with USDA inspectors to ensure ongoing compliance with federal regulations along with timely resolution of deficiencies as needed.
  3. Support facility compliance to policy and regulations through onsite monitoring and/or verification activities.
  4. Knowledge in wet sanitation and pre-operational monitoring procedures. Conduct/Review Pre-op inspection records.
  5. Support new vendor approval with oversight from direct manager.
  6. Create a schedule of internal audits, lead or support execution of internal audits, track findings and ensure closure of corrective actions in a timely manner.
  7. Maintain readiness for Third Party GMP audit.
  8. Ensure that quality and food safety tests and procedures are properly understood and followed.
  9. Schedule and deliver local site Food Safety including CCPs, Food Defense, and Quality Management system training per schedule.
  10. Investigate, log, track, and trend customer complaints. Support Corrective actions as needed.
  11. Collaboration with organizational leadership in the establishment of quality assurance objectives on an annual basis.
  12. Provide FSQA support to internal projects (e.g. new items, new equipment installation, etc.)

About you:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred.
  2. Minimum of five years of Food Safety & Quality experience.
  3. Knowledge of USDA meat and poultry regulations, FDA regulations, GMP’s, food safety audits, process procedures and documentation. GFSI audit experience highly preferred.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. HACCP trained.
