The FSQA Manager position involves developing and implementing food safety, product safety, and quality policies to ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and brand standards. The role provides technical support for food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across CHEF’STORES, supports strategic projects for continuous improvement, and addresses day-to-day safety, quality, and regulatory issues.

This position is classified as Region Remote, meaning travel to multiple sites is required, and candidates must reside within the Western Region or bordering states.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical expertise and foster effective relationships between corporate FSQA and CHEF’STORES.
  2. Support ongoing improvements in sanitation, food safety, quality, and compliance.
  3. Conduct compliance assessments and support corrective actions through coaching and influence.
  4. Assist in onboarding new CHEF’STORE locations with cross-functional teams.
  5. Analyze and improve food safety processes to support company results.
  6. Collaborate with various functions on food safety, quality, and regulatory matters.
  7. Support CHEF’STORES during regulatory visits and non-compliance responses.
  8. Perform other duties including special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Relationships:
  • Internal: Collaboration with US Foods’ food safety, quality, and operational teams.
  • External: Regulatory agencies, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Work Environment:
  • This role is fully remote, with responsibilities performed from a home-based environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 7 years of experience in food safety, quality, or regulatory compliance, with 3+ years in management.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proactive and energetic with a good sense of humor.
  • Proficiency with Office 365, Teams, Adobe, etc.
  • Willingness to travel 60-80%, including overnight stays, and reside near a major airport.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in food safety, public health, science, or equivalent experience.
Certifications/Training:
  • Seafood HACCP Certification (desired).
  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (desired).
  • Continuous improvement training (desired).
  • ServSafe or Certified Food Protection Manager (desired).
Licenses:
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to travel by various modes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in retail environments.
  • Certification in auditing or related fields.

Compensation ranges from $85,000 to $140,000, depending on experience and other factors.
