Job summary

Kowalski Companies Inc is seeking a detail-oriented FSQA Compliance & Documentation Specialist to support and maintain our food safety and quality programs across all facilities. The role focuses on regulatory compliance, documentation systems, and audits to foster a culture of food safety throughout the organization.

The position is onsite, full-time, with responsibilities spanning management of the Food Safety Library, regulatory training, supplier approvals, and calibration of analytical

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food science or related field (or 4+ years of experience without a degree)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SOP, SSOP, SPS regulations
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment such as thermometers, scales, fat analyzer, and water activity meter
  • HACCP, PCQI, or other relevant certifications

Responsibilities

  • Manages Food Safety Library, SSOPs, FSPs, and other regulatory documentation for all locations.
  • Manages the plant's internal auditing program and maintains audit readiness.
  • Supports 3rd party certification and regulatory audits with FSQA Director.
  • Ensures timely corrections to inspection observations and monitors effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with company consultants.
  • Manages Supplier Approval Program using Trustwell platform.
  • Participates in creating quality and regulatory training for plant personnel.
  • Contributes to annual FSP re-analysis for all facilities.
  • Calibrates and verifies analytical instruments supporting monitoring activities.
  • Performs analytical measurements in support of FSP/HACCP.
  • Conducts direct observation or arranges assistance for direct observation.
  • Monitors GMPs and conducts daily pre-operational and operational audits.
  • Performs environmental monitoring program swabbing and sampling

FSQA Compliance and Documentation Specialist
Onsite | Full-Time

We are seeking a detail-oriented FSQA Compliance & Documentation Specialist to support and maintain our food safety and quality programs across all facilities. This role ensures regulatory compliance, manages documentation systems, supports audits, and helps drive a culture of food safety throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages Food Safety Library, SSOP's, FSPs, and other regulatory related documentation for all company locations.
  • Manages the plant's internal auditing program and ensures plant is always audit ready.
  • Works with FSQA Director during 3rd Party certification and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure timely corrections are made to all inspection observations and monitor effectiveness.
  • Work with company consultants.
  • Manage Supplier Approval Program using Trustwell platform.
  • Participate in creating quality and regulatory training for all plant personnel.
  • Contribute to annual FSP re-analysis for all facilities.
  • Calibration and verification of various analytical instruments in support of monitoring activities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in food science or related field with 1-4 years' experience OR 4+ years' experience without a degree
  • Computer literacy to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality regulations regarding HACCP, GMP, SOP, SSOP, SPS
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment, thermometers, weight scales, fat analyzer, and water activity meter
  • HACCP, PCQI, or other relevant industry certifications

Schedule
  • 8-10-hour shifts
