Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a quality assurance professional for a full-time position in a food manufacturing environment. You will monitor HACCP and GMP adherence, promptly reporting deviations to ensure product safety and compliance.

You will prepare and maintain quality reports, process SAP transactions for product releases from QA hold, and collaborate with Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Sensory, and Product Development teams for testing.

Qualifications

• HACCP familiarity and GMP knowledge are preferred.
• 0–1 year of experience required or encouraged.
• Ability to learn and operate standard lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HACCP and GMP adherence daily and report deviations.
• Prepare and maintain quality reports and SAP entries for product release from QA hold.
• Verify regulatory compliance of formulas and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Sensory and Product Development for testing.
• Conduct investigations and audits, delivering GMP and food safety training.

Starting Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Additional $1.50 shift differential from 2:30PM p.m. -- 4:00 a.m.

Shift: 2nd FLEX

Hours: 6:00PM - 4:30AM

What You Will Do

• Monitor and ensure daily adherence to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), promptly reporting any deviations or issues to management.
• Prepare, analyze, and maintain quality reports and documentation, including specification notices, trend analyses, and SAP transaction processing for product release from QA hold.
• Verify regulatory compliance of manufacturing formulas and procedures, initiating corrective actions as needed to maintain product quality and safety.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Sensory, and Product Development to obtain samples and information for comprehensive product testing.
• Conduct investigations into food safety incidents, perform formulation audits, and deliver GMP and food safety training to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

What You Will Bring

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 0 to 1 year of experience.
• Demonstrate knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) as it applies to specific plant operations (HACCP certification preferred).
• Work in a variety of temperatures.
• Learn and operate standard laboratory equipment and keep accurate documentation of daily information.
