Job Description
  • Install, maintain, and repair CCTV cabling infrastructure, including coaxial, CAT5e/6, and fiber, often routed through underground pathways, walls, ceiling trays, in-ground vaults and pull boxes, tech poles, fixed base and direct-buried poles, and other confined environments or challenging structures.
  • Terminate, label, and test voice, video, security, and data cabling; remove and dispose of outdated or abandoned cables. Install or relocate camera drops, wall outlets, patch panels, power injectors, and various media converters.
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair work in and around outdoor modular and freestanding NEMA enclosures to ensure secure, weather-resistant housing for CCTV and related electronic equipment.
  • Install and maintain rack-mounted equipment including switches, patch panels, and cable management systems; conduct regular cleaning and preventative maintenance of network closets, data rooms, MDF/IDFs, etc.
  • Regularly communicate repair progress, priorities, and emerging issues to internal remote technical teams to maintain alignment and awareness of remote support requirements. Escalate critical service issues as needed, ensuring continuous updates to the broader Service team on high-priority incidents that exceed standard resolution timelines.
  • Perform routine health checks and visual diagnostics of field equipment (cameras, encoders, field switches, media converters, etc.), identifying and reporting issues related to connectivity, performance, and functionality.
  • Install peripheral electronics such as monitors and displays, battery backups (UPS), PoE midspans, wireless access points, corporate and ruggedized network switches, racks, cabinets and various enclosures.
  • Assist remote technical resources with the onboarding of net-new and replacement devices, e.g., verifying VMS connectivity and point-and-aiming cameras for optimal field of view (FOV) coverage.
  • Transport and assemble wall and floor-mounted racks and cabinets; rack-and-stack various types of equipment, ranging from server, network and NVR appliances to patch panels, shelving and UPS systems.

  • Regularly utilize ladders of various sizes to install, service, or repair CCTV cameras and related equipment mounted at elevated heights; operate man lifts where ladder access is impractical or poses safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, field technicians, project managers and various technical groups to address complex issues and ensure smooth integration of video surveillance systems into larger IT infrastructures.
Duties may also include:
  • Attend standups, technical project engagements and other team meetings.
