Job Summary:

Responsible for the efficient admission of inpatients and outpatient testing or procedures. Collects patient information, explains hospital policies, and enters data into the computer system. Distributes information to relevant departments and participates in performance improvement activities.

Salary Rate: $24

Required Skills:

Minimum Education and Work Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two years of admission/registration experience or customer contact experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Essential Functions:

• Answer phones and route inquiries appropriately
• Interview patients or responsible persons to gather demographic and insurance information
• Serve as PBX Operator
• Maintain waiting area cleanliness
• Provide explanations and reassurance to patients
• Stock beverages and snacks for visitors
• Prepare paperwork and obtain signatures for compliance
• Ensure documentation is forwarded to Patient Accounting
• Prepare patient charts for surgeries, including printing labels and forms
• Register outpatient, surgical, and inpatient cases
• Perform other duties as assigned
