Job summary

West Virginia Department of Education is seeking a school kitchen cook to maintain high standards of food preparation and service within our child nutrition program. You will prepare meals for students and staff in accordance with state and federal guidelines, and ensure cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.

Responsibilities include following recipes, reading ingredient measurements, operating school kitchen equipment, and assisting with inventory and restocking as materials are received.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Wyoming County Foodhandlers Permit.
• Experience in institutional or commercial cooking preferred.
• Ability to read recipes and calculate ingredient measurements.
• Competency test for WVDE cook must be passed.

• Should have a functional working skill in the operation of all types of school kitchen equipment
• Must pass WVDE cook competency test

Employment Term: 200 days
