Job summary

Highland Baking Company is seeking an experienced High Reach Forklift Operator / Order Picker to support the Frozen Shipping team in Northbrook, IL. The role requires operating high-reach forklifts, picking and staging orders, and ensuring accurate, timely shipments in a cold-storage environment.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of high-reach forklift experience, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a demonstrated commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience operating a high-reach forklift.
• High-reach forklift experience required; cherry picker or sit-down forklifts do not qualify.
• Experience in warehouse, distribution, or cold-storage preferred.
• Able to work in freezer temperatures and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team; available for shifts, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate high-reach forklifts to move, retrieve, and store frozen products in elevated warehouse racking.
• Accurately pick, organize, and stage customer orders for shipment.
• Load, unload, and transport pallets while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
• Verify product quantities and ensure orders are prepared according to shipping requirements.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures, food safety standards, and warehouse policies.
• Work with team members and supervisors to meet daily shipping deadlines.
• Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

Safely operate high-reach forklifts to move, retrieve, and store frozen products in elevated warehouse racking systems.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and lift throughout the shift.

Ability to work 8-12-hour shifts in a physically demanding environment.

Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer conditions.

Ability to safely lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds.
