Job description

Frozen Food Maintenance Mechanic - Second Shift - ATFN

Position Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance procedures on plant equipment. This individual should have a good working knowledge of operation and maintenance of shop equipment and apply mechanical ability in all aspects of the job while performing daily routine activities. The schedule is Monday to Friday, sometimes Saturdays, from 12pm to 8:30pm.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform proper preventive maintenance using approved, safe techniques.
  2. Ensure equipment is ready for production start-up.
  3. Perform repairs on worn out or damaged equipment.
  4. Perform equipment modifications and fabrication as needed.
  5. Assist production, sanitation, and other support groups when needed.
  6. Demonstrate good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
  7. Follow all safety rules and practices.
  8. Perform work at company standards for techniques, speeds, and efficiencies.
  9. Understand and work with the MP2 system program.
  10. Develop and implement maintenance procedures for equipment.
  11. Innovate to improve efficiency, safety, uptime, and reduce maintenance costs.
  12. Lubricate equipment with understanding of various device requirements.
  13. Perform other duties as required.

Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 6 months of manufacturing maintenance experience required.
  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand test meters.
  • Basic understanding of maintenance and installation of facility plumbing, boilers, air compressors, and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Effective communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Basic understanding of HACCP and food safety concepts.
