Job summary

Qualifications

• Playing experience in the specific sport at the high school, collegiate, amateur or professional level.
• Experience coaching youth leagues, middle school, or sports camp in the same sport, or equivalent experience.
• Current State of California coaching certifications.
• Current certification required by the East Side Union High School District, including mandated reporter training.
• Must pass District Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of the fundamental skills and techniques needed for the specific sport.
• Demonstrates successful personality and character traits appropriate to educational leadership.
• Demonstrates successful ability to organize practices.
• Ability to design an appropriate conditioning program with the varsity head coach and/or Athletic Director.
• Demonstrates successful management and organization skills including following district guidelines and policies.
• Demonstrates successful ability to work with parent groups, administrators, staff and students.
• Demonstrates positive communication with players and parents.
• Instills commitment, discipline, and teamwork in a group of students with varied athletic ability.
• Helps students balance academics with athletic commitments.
• Collaborates with other coaches within the sport program.
• Follows CIF/CCSBVAL Coaches Code of Conduct and district policies.
• Keeps inventory of equipment and uniforms as delegated.
