Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum six months experience in any type of work demonstrating the ability to perform Wildland Firefighter duties.
• OR completion of one year of related education or appropriate firefighting training.
• Examples of general experience include farm/ranch labor, greenhouse/nursery work, caring for animals, and other general labor tasks.
• Volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) is credited.
• Work Capacity Test (WCT) at the arduous level is required, including a three-mile hike with a 45-pound pack within 45 minutes.
