Job summary

Flexport is building the unified Supply Chain Operating System for global trade. As a Forward Deployed Consultant, you will embed on client sites to architect, build, and deploy real-time supply chain solutions including optimization models and data integrations.

Based in San Francisco, CA with up to 50% travel, you will partner with executives to translate data into ROI, design production workflows, and drive measurable value across freight, tariffs, and inventory.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or higher in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of professional experience in supply chain management/consulting, logistics engineering, freight forwarding, or product management.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau).
• Ability to build decision-support systems and reason about end-to-end physical dependencies.
• Experience overseeing project workstreams from problem definition through goals, prototyping, delivery management, risk management, adoption, and impact measurement.
• Executive communication and influence with stakeholders including C-suite.
• Willingness to work on-site at ports, warehouses, and client logistics hubs.

Responsibilities

• Embed directly to client headquarters and logistics hubs to map processes, audit data, and quantify ROI across freight, tariffs, and inventory.
• Design, prototype, and scale mathematical supply chain models using Python and SQL.
• Lead solution design and product integration across Flexport capabilities and partner with engineering teams to productionize models.
• Translate data models into clear business stories and ROI projections for executives.
• Work with frontline operations teams to validate models in live workflows and drive adoption.
• Manage 90-day deployment sprints, roadmaps, data pipelines, and issue resolution to deliver measurable results.
