Job summary

Flexport is hiring a Forward Deployed Consultant (Supply Chain Solutions) in San Francisco. You will embed with Fortune 500 clients, audit data, and build live optimization models to cut costs and improve service across ocean, air, and land networks.

You will design production workflows, lead end-to-end deployments, and partner with commercial teams to present ROI to executives. Expect on-site work with up to 50% travel and a strong focus on impact.

Qualifications

BA/BS or higher in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Supply Chain, or related field.
4+ years in supply chain management, logistics, or product management.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools.
Ability to build end-to-end optimization and decision-support systems.
Experience managing complex programs from goals to delivery and adoption.
Strong executive communication with stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

Embed directly with client teams to map processes and audit data.
Design and scale mathematical supply chain models using Python and SQL.
Lead design across capabilities: Order/Shipment, Transportation Planning, Data Integration.
Translate models into production workflows inside the Flexport platform.
Partner with commercial teams to create high-impact client proposals.
Work with frontline operations to validate models in live workflows.
Manage 90-day deployment sprints and drive measurable results.
Monitor cost and environmental impact through project metrics.
