Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks Infantry Soldiers to form the backbone on the ground, taking or holding ground during operations. You'll train in reconnaissance, weapons, and team-based missions.

You’ll earn while you learn: paid Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training, with tuition assistance; retirement benefits, health care, and a 401(k)-type savings plan are available. Enlistment basics include age, education, and citizenship requirements.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reconnaissance operations.
• Employ, fire, and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines.
• Operate weapon systems and use night vision sights.
• Operate and maintain communications equipment.
• Perform as a member of a fire team during training and missions.
• Process prisoners of war and captured documents.
• Aid in mobilization of vehicles, troops, and weaponry.
• Use, maintain, and store combat weapons.
