Job summary

AVEVA is seeking a Principal Research Scientist to lead frontier industrial AI research. You will define ambitious research questions, build experimental prototypes, publish influential work, and contribute to AVEVA’s IP portfolio.

The role covers foundation models, multimodal learning, time‑series, simulation, and agentic systems. You will collaborate across research, engineering, and product teams, taking ideas from hypothesis to validated systems in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent research experience in ML/AI or related fields.
• Strong publications, patents, or open-source contributions.
• Hands-on AI experimentation and software development ability.
• Ability to identify important problems and pursue autonomous projects.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead ambitious research initiatives in frontier industrial AI.
• Develop models, algorithms, evaluation methods, and system architectures.
• Build experimental systems and validated research prototypes.
• Publish at leading venues and contribute to IP portfolio.
• Create benchmarks, datasets, and evaluation frameworks for industrial AI.
• Partner with AI labs, universities and technology organizations.
• Take research from hypothesis to prototype and validation.
• Influence AVEVA’s long-term AI research direction and strategy.
