Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Frontier Engineer to pilot and migrate a cloud-native payment hub from Azure to AWS and GCP, leveraging GenAI tools to accelerate delivery. You’ll join the Digital Engineering team and collaborate with developers, QA, cloud and DevOps engineers, and clients.

Remote role in the United States with flexible work arrangements; visa sponsorship is not available. You will work on CI/CD pipelines, API/UI development, and multi-cloud design to deliver a pilot project.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Frontier Engineer with GenAI tools such as Devin, Claude, Codex, and GitHub Copilot.
• Polyglot development expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong API development experience.
• Hands-on experience building user interfaces with Angular.
• Cloud development experience on AWS and/or GCP.

• Pilot and migrate a cloud-native payment hub from Azure to AWS and GCP platforms.
• Develop and enhance API and UI components using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular across cloud-native environments.
• Design and build cloud-native solutions on AWS and GCP, including CI/CD DevOps pipelines and database engineering.
• Apply GenAI tools to accelerate testing and QA activities across the migration effort.
• Collaborate as a polyglot engineer across development, QA, cloud engineering, and DB engineering workstreams to deliver the pilot.

Frontier Engineer

About the role

As a Frontier Engineer, you will make an impact by piloting and migrating a cloud-native modern payment hub from Azure to AWS and GCP platforms, leveraging GenAI tools to accelerate delivery. You will be a valued member of the Digital Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, QA, cloud and DevOps engineers, and clients.

Please note: A few of our roles may require in-person interviews at Cognizant offices or client locations, depending on project or client needs.

In this role, you will

• Utilize GenAI tools such as Devin, Claude, Codex, and GitHub Copilot to implement the changes required to migrate API and UI code from Azure to AWS and GCP platforms.
• Develop and enhance API and UI components using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular across cloud-native environments.
• Design and build cloud-native solutions on AWS and GCP, including CI/CD DevOps pipelines and database engineering.
• Apply GenAI tools to accelerate testing and QA activities across the migration effort.
• Collaborate as a polyglot engineer across development, QA, cloud engineering, and DB engineering workstreams to deliver the pilot.

Salary and Other Compensation

• The annual salary for this position is between $91,000 - $155,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
• This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
