Jefferson Lab seeks a CEBAF experimental physics postdoctoral fellow to conduct original research and help support hall operations. The role includes pursuing new research ideas, collaborating with CEBAF staff and the user community, and contributing to the physics program.

The position is a 2-year term and includes company-provided relocation assistance. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in experimental nuclear or particle physics and strong collaborative skills.

Qualifikationen

• Up-to-date knowledge in relavent scientific data collection and analysis concepts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skill to be able to interact effectively with a diverse group of scientists.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
• Technically skilled with nuclear physics detectors and/or with codes required for nuclear physics data analysis.

Aufgaben

• Conduct original research in collaboration with CEABF experimental physics scientists.
• Support hall operations by performing tasks such as run coordinator, shift work and data quality monitor.
• Prepare publications and present results at collaboration meetings and conferences.
• Develop and co-lead an experimental program and work on new science proposals.
