Mercor is seeking a meticulous web evaluation specialist to rate and justify the fidelity of reference pages and two candidate replicas at 1920×1080. You will inspect HTML structure, CSS, and assets, then document precise reasons for each preference with evidence.

Responsibilities include evaluating layout fidelity, typography, and responsiveness, and delivering evidence-based rationales for grading decisions. This role emphasizes critical analysis and clear written explanations.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of professional web development experience.
• Fluency across web eras and ability to read raw HTML/CSS.
• Proficiency with hand-written HTML and CSS, including semantic markup.
• Experience using browser DevTools for precise layout/styles.
• Ability to explain decisions with evidence and citations.

Responsibilities

• Render reference page and two candidate replicas at 1920×1080 and judge which is closer.
• Diff visual fidelity: box model, typography, color, images, z-order and overflow.
• Read source of attempts and grade construction quality, not just appearance.
• Test responsiveness and explain why specific breakpoints cause defects.
• Provide evidence-based, citation-backed justifications for every preference.
