About The Role

We are hiring a Principal Frontend Engineer to join Upserve’s web applications team. This is a remote position open to candidates across the United States. The selected candidate will play a strategic role in owning and enhancing key parts of our frontend architecture, guiding engineering best practices, and collaborating with Product and UX teams to deliver high-quality experiences that drive real value for our customers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in developing and scaling modern frontend web applications
• Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including types, data structures, and algorithms
• Demonstrated ability to drive UI/UX consistency and accessibility across web platforms
• Experience leading frontend initiatives in cross-functional teams
• Commitment to clean, testable, maintainable code and high-quality software development practices
• Ability to mentor developers and contribute to team growth and knowledge sharing
• Previous experience working in agile development environments
  
  

Responsibilities

• Lead development of scalable, responsive, and accessible web applications
• Partner closely with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Advocate for frontend performance, maintainability, and user-centric design principles
• Define and promote coding standards, architectural decisions, and best practices
• Provide technical mentorship and participate in code reviews, planning, and retrospectives
• Take ownership of frontend projects from concept to deployment and post-release improvement
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to align technical direction with business goals
• Identify opportunities to improve frontend tooling, testing, and workflows
