CAKE.com is seeking a Frontend Engineer with deep expertise in React or Angular to join our AI-native engineering team. You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with product managers and designers, and shape scalable web architectures while leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency.

You should have 5+ years of software development, 3+ years in React or Angular, and a product-minded approach to delivering user-centric interfaces and robust frontend systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• 3+ years with React or Angular and strong TypeScript, HTML, CSS skills.
• Ability to think beyond code—focus on user needs and product usability.
• Experience using modern AI development tools to boost productivity.
• Designing scalable frontend architectures and writing unit/integration tests.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and modern frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, NPM) and JWT.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

About the Position

In this role, you won't just be converting Figma designs into components. You will actively collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to own features end-to-end, optimize user experiences, and shape scalable web architectures.

What You'll Do

Develop, maintain, and scale high-performance frontend applications and reusable component libraries using React or Angular.

Partner closely with product and design teams to translate business requirements into intuitive, user-centric frontend experiences.

Actively use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate workflows, write tests, refactor code, and automate repetitive tasks.

Write clean, modular, and well-tested TypeScript code while contributing to robust CI/CD and frontend build pipelines.

Must-Haves

5+ years of commercial software development experience.

3+ years of hands‑on experience with React or Angular (with deep proficiency in modern TypeScript, HTML, and CSS).

Demonstrated ability to think beyond code—understanding user needs, product usability, and how technical decisions impact business goals.

Experience using modern AI development tools in your everyday engineering process to enhance productivity and code quality.

Proven track record of designing scalable frontend architectures, writing unit/integration tests, and maintaining high code standards.

Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, modern frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite, NPM), and authorization mechanisms (e.g., JWT).

Excellent written and spoken English skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to cross‑functional teams.

Nice‑to‑Haves

Experience working on large‑scale web applications within organizations of 100+ engineers.

Familiarity with both React and Angular, or willingness to work across frameworks if needed.

Understanding of Agile methodologies, continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD), and automated end‑to‑end testing.
