Job summary

CHAMP is seeking a Frontend Engineer in Cleveland to join our Product Engineering department. You will work in an Agile team to build user-facing experiences that power CHAMP's platform, translating product requirements into polished, responsive interfaces.

You will collaborate with product, design, and backend teams, learning from senior engineers while contributing to modern, scalable web apps that replace legacy systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing, testing, and implementing React or comparable framework applications.
• Solid understanding of UI design patterns, principles, and best practices.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experience with frontend build tools and dependency management (NPM, Yarn, RsBuild, Lerna, or similar).
• Experience writing automated tests (Vitest, React Testing Library, Jest, or similar).
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Implement new features while ensuring scalability and maintainability.
• Translate use cases and UI mockups into responsive, functional features.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and web services with proper loading and error handling.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards.
• Create and maintain system and component documentation.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, backend engineers, Product, and QA teams.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and learn from senior teammates.
• Apply security best practices for government and financial data.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests.
