Job summary

Generalist is seeking a Frontend Engineer to build intuitive interfaces for robotics and AI-powered systems. You will own frontend development from prototypes to production, collaborating with design, product, and infrastructure to deliver robust, scalable web applications that help researchers, operators, and customers interact with our embodied AI platform.

You will design and implement visualizations, optimize for performance, and shape a cohesive frontend architecture and design system

Qualifications

• Experience shipping and maintaining production web apps with TypeScript and React.
• Strong opinions on shared component libraries and UI patterns.
• Frontend architecture fundamentals: clear components and explicit state.
• Experience managing asynchronous data and UI during updates and failures.
• Clear communication and collaboration across engineering, design, product.

Responsibilities

• Build web apps for robot monitoring, data exploration, model training and internal tooling.
• Turn complex requirements into clear, responsive interfaces for decisions.
• Develop interactive visualizations for telemetry, video, results, and health.
• Shape frontend architecture to simplify workflows as the product grows.
• Establish a cohesive design system across research platform and operator interfaces.
• Collaborate with researchers, operators, customers to test ideas and iterate.
• Improve frontend dev experience with conventions and reusable patterns.
