Job summary

OpenAI Space is hiring a Frontend Software Engineer to build a top-tier collaboration experience for working with AI. You’ll prototype with design, iterate on interactions, and turn concepts into reliable, high-performance UI.

You’ll own frontend architecture decisions, improve performance, and partner with research, platform, and backend teams to integrate model capabilities into cohesive creation and editing workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience building frontend experiences in collaborative applications.
• Strong knowledge of modern frontend stacks (React/TypeScript).
• Ability to craft high-quality UI with attention to performance and accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship polished, high-performance UI for Space and its collaborative workflows.
• Partner with design to turn prototypes into production-quality experiences across layout, typography, motion and interaction details.
• Own frontend architecture decisions across component systems, state management, navigation, and rendering performance.
• Improve quality and reliability through testing, instrumentation, accessibility, and handling loading/errors/concurrent changes.
• Collaborate with research, platform, and backend teams to integrate model capabilities into cohesive creation and collaboration experiences.
