Job summary

Carla is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join the Product & Tech team. You will build internal tools powering operations, from inspection to planning and parts management, primarily with TypeScript and React.

You may also touch Go backend tasks as needed and explore AI-assisted development to boost impact. The role emphasizes end-to-end problem solving, quality code, and collaboration with UX, product, and engineering to deliver robust and scalable software that improves daily workflows

Qualifications

• 5+ years of frontend engineering experience and solid software architecture fundamentals.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and React.
• Experience with backend development or strong interest in solving problems full-stack.
• Curious and pragmatic in using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering effectiveness.
• Good communication and collaborative, product-minded approach.

We are looking for a skilled Senior Frontend Engineer to contribute to the technical development of products within our Product & Tech team. You will join our Operations team, developing the tailor‑made internal tools that power our business - from our in‑house inspection tool and partner portal to workshop planning and spare parts management. Everything is built in‑house and used across the whole business, and in general we rely on very few third‑party systems in our daily work. That means what you build directly shapes how everyone at Carla works. Your deepest expertise is in frontend (TypeScript and React), and you care about crafting software that feels natural, honest and joyful to use, as well as technically robust and easy to maintain. We are increasingly moving towards full‑stack engineering, so you should be keen to solve problems end‑to‑end, including in our Go backend when needed. We value engineers who combine strong engineering fundamentals with curiosity for modern tools, including AI‑assisted development, to increase their impact and effectiveness. • Hands‑On Frontend Development Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, primarily in TypeScript and React, for our internal tools and applications that are critical for our operations, including inspection, workshop planning, quality control and beyond
• Work end‑to‑end when needed, including in our Go backend, to deliver complete solutions
• Use modern development tools, including AI‑assisted workflows, to improve your speed, quality and impact as an engineer
• Care deeply about the details of usability and performance
• System Optimization and Improvement Improve our codebase by making it easier to understand, test, maintain and evolve over time
• Manage technical debt by refactoring code and improving existing systems
• Collaboration and Problem‑Solving Build software in a cross‑functional team with UX design, product and engineering working together as one. Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve code quality, clarity and long‑term maintainability across the team. Lead through example and empower the people around you

We believe that the ideal candidate has:

• 5+ years of experience as a frontend engineer and solid software architecture fundamentals
• Strong hands‑on experience with TypeScript and React
• Experience with backend development, or at least a strong interest in solving problems full‑stack
• Curious and pragmatic in using AI‑assisted development tools to improve engineering effectiveness, all the way from planning to execution and reviews, as well as shaping our codebase, tooling and guardrails so AI agents can do quality work
• Good communication skills and a collaborative, product‑minded approach. You enjoy discussing different solutions to technical as well as UX problems
• A plus if you have experience building systems that support operational workflows or internal tools at scale
