Job summary

Renaissance Geek in San Francisco is seeking a senior frontend engineer to own production interfaces for Impeccable and future AI tools, guiding interaction design, architecture, implementation, testing, and performance.

You will ship polished interfaces, own frontend architecture, state, API integration, accessibility, testing, and browser performance, and bring care to typography, motion, hierarchy, and interaction.

Qualifications

• Senior-level judgment and track record of owning work from ambiguous problem to shipped result.
• Fluency in TypeScript, HTML, CSS and a modern component framework.
• Ability to diagnose and improve interactions and performance across the stack.

Responsibilities

• Take ambiguous product problems from prototype to polished interfaces.
• Build visual loops for AI interactions: critique, compare, iterate, and observe changes.

The most interesting interface problems in AI are still unsolved. How do you help someone see what could be better, try a direction, and steer toward something worth shipping?

You’ll own production interfaces for Impeccable and the tools we build next. That means interaction design, architecture, implementation, testing, performance, and the details people feel even when they can’t name them.

Frontend excellence is your specialty: exceptional visual taste, interaction craft, and the judgment to know what makes an interface feel right. You’ve shipped and maintained production software, and you can work across the stack to take an idea through release and the fixes that follow.

What you’ll own

• Take ambiguous product problems from a first prototype to reliable, polished interfaces people use.
• Build the visual loops for working with AI: critique, compare, iterate, and see what changed.
• Own frontend architecture, state, API integration, accessibility, testing, and browser performance.
• Bring care to typography, motion, hierarchy, and interaction. Explain the decisions behind the details.
• Work across the stack when the best solution calls for it, and stay responsible after the release.

What we’re looking for

• You bring senior-level judgment and a track record of owning work from an ambiguous problem through a shipped result. You set priorities, make sound tradeoffs, and know when to involve others.
• You have deep expertise in something and curiosity that extends well beyond it.
• You see what needs doing, exercise judgment, and follow through without waiting for a perfectly defined brief.
• You already use AI tools in your work, question their output, and stay responsible for the result.
• You can walk us through production software you personally built, the engineering tradeoffs, and what happened after launch.
• You’re fluent in TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and a modern component framework.
• Your shipped work shows excellent visual and interaction judgment. You can explain why a detail works, and improve it without waiting for a complete design specification.
• You can diagnose a broken interaction or slow render as confidently as you can improve its design.
• You use AI tools thoughtfully and can inspect, explain, and stand behind the code they help you ship.

Location and travel

San Francisco preferred · US remote by exception. Approximately once per quarter.
