Job summary

Evlo AI in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced frontend engineer to own end-to-end development of high-performance, responsive user interfaces for millions of daily users. You will collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to deliver accessible web products using modern JavaScript frameworks.

You will translate designs into pixel-perfect UI, optimize performance, implement testing strategies with Jest and Cypress, and contribute to frontend architecture and design

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of frontend software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and state management.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field; familiarity with accessibility and performance best practices.

About The Role

The role owns the end-to-end development of high-performance, responsive user interfaces and client-side applications that serve millions of daily active users.

The engineering team collaborates closely with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to build seamless, accessible, and performant web products using modern JavaScript frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and modern CSS frameworks
• Optimize client-side performance, focusing on metrics such as Core Web Vitals, bundle size reduction, and render efficiency
• Collaborate with UX designers to translate wireframes and high-fidelity mockups into pixel-perfect, accessible UI components
• Integrate RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints, handling robust state management, caching, and error-handling strategies
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools like Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to frontend architectural standards and design systems

What We Are Looking For

• 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience with a primary focus on modern frontend development
• Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, or Context API)
• Strong understanding of web fundamentals: HTML5, CSS3/Sass, responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and web accessibility (WCAG)
• Experience with frontend build tools, module bundlers, and CI/CD pipelines (Webpack, Vite, GitHub Actions)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Bonus: Experience with server-side rendering (Next.js), GraphQL implementation, or native mobile development
