A leading company in healthcare seeks a Front Office Team Leader to oversee operations in the front office, ensuring compliance with productivity standards while mentoring staff. This role requires significant customer service experience, preferably in the medical field, with responsibilities that include managing authorizations and training new employees.
Job Summary: The Front Office Team Leader coordinates and maintains a smooth operation within the front office by mentoring and directing the front office personal. Encourages compliance with productivity guidelines, emphasizing completeness, accuracy and concern for patients. Primary trainer for new personnel. Interfaces with physicians, employees and patients, maintaining positive relationships and the ability to coordinate responsibilities. Develops plans for achieving objectives and standards pertaining to the front office function. Manages the authorization process for patients of all reimbursement types for any services requiring authorization. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of three years of customer service, general office or Receptionist experience required. Medical field experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Medical terminology knowledge preferred. Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to use a computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
