Job summary

Texas Children’s Pediatrics is seeking a Front Office Specialist I at Shadow Creek Ranch to coordinate scheduling, greet visitors, and handle calls. You will enter accurate billing information and process referrals, with a patient-centered approach to communications.

Responsibilities include scheduling, demographic verification, EHR and billing data entry, and maintaining professional interactions per SMILES and AIDET standards. This role supports access to pediatric care across our network.

Qualifications

• Minimum HS diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year in an office setting.
• Ability to greet visitors and manage front-desk tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors upon arrival; assist check in/check out.
• Schedule appointments.
• Verify accurate patient demographics.
• Enter data into EHR and electronic billing system.
• Answer telephone within three rings and direct calls per protocol.
• Enter hospital charges into billing system accurately and timely.
• Balance payments received daily.
• Document eligibility in the EHR per protocol.
• Identify and document network providers for referrals.
• Notify provider when no network is available.
• Complete paperwork for authorized referrals within two business days.
• Enter referrals into the EHR within two business days.

We are searching for a Front Office Specialist I - TCP Shadow Creek Ranch - someone to coordinate and perform the scheduling of patients, receive and greet visitors, answer and handle incoming calls, coordinate the referral process, enter accurate billing information into system and transmit accurate claims.

• Balances payments received daily.

• Identifies and documents network providers for appropriate referral.
• Notifies provider when no provider in network is available.
• Completes paperwork and documentation for authorized referrals within two (2) business days.
• Enters referrals into electronic health record within two (2) business days of receiving request from provider.
• Assists patients, per practice protocol, in setting appointments for referred services.
• Assists patients, per practice protocol, who have emergencies or have self-referred without prior authorization.
