Job summary

The Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is seeking a Front Office Receptionist for our Eugene, OR location. You will greet patients, handle check-in, manage paperwork, and serve as the liaison between patients and clinical staff.

This role supports the US Oncology Compliance Program and must maintain patient confidentiality. Benefits include standard offerings; schedule is 6:30 am–3:30 pm, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, at our Eugene clinic.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some receptionist or office experience preferred (1-3 years minimum).
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel) required.
  • Demonstrates Adaptability: handles day to day work challenges confidently; is willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and visitors to the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. Checks in patients and informs clinical staff of patient arrival.
  • Provides and explains paperwork for patient to complete prior to examination; collects, proofs for completeness, files forms; updates demographics and insurance information; collects co-pays and balances; provides receipt.
  • Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions; routes to appropriate personnel or takes messages; pages clinic personnel as appropriate; communicates messages accurately and timely.
  • Maintains lobby area in a neat and orderly manner; maintains supply of forms and office supplies.
  • Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines regarding patient records.
  • Other duties as requested; may type memos and forms.

Overview
Front Office Receptionist

The Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is seeking a new Front Office Receptionist for our main clinical location. As one of the administrative positions at our clinic, this person acts as the front line of patient care. You would be greeting and assisting incoming patients, handling last minute scheduling, and liaise between patients and clinical staff. If you are a personable, passionate, and positive individual with a heart for service, we want to hear from you! This role will also support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $19.00-$34.03. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.

Employment Type: 1.0 FTE (40 hr/week)

Schedule: Monday-Friday from 6:30 am - 3:30 pm

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
