Job summary

AQR Capital Management in Greenwich, CT is seeking a software engineer to join the Quantitative Research Development team. You will build data platforms and APIs, support SIG with engineering scale, and craft AI-enabled tools for research and trading.

You'll work 3 days per week in the office, collaborating globally to translate research into scalable solutions while emphasizing testing, design quality, and cloud-based infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of programming experience with Python, NumPy and Pandas.
• Experience with SQL (SQL Server & Postgres preferred).
• Understanding of AI and agentic frameworks for engineering productivity.
• Able to translate design into high quality code.
• Mastery of design patterns and object-oriented programming.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale app design, SOA, microservices, containers and cloud.
• Attention to detail with strong testing mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.
• Finance knowledge or experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend data and services platforms, orchestration and validation engines.
• Develop SIG Tools, data and API infrastructure with millions of data points.
• Create intuitive research APIs using cloud computing and visualizations.
• Operate a high-performance historical simulation/backtesting engine.
• Deliver bespoke tech solutions for asset classes and research needs.
• Contribute to Machine Learning and AI-driven application development.
