Job Description

Location: 12952 Bandera Road, Suite 105, Helotes, TX 78023

Position: Front Office Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing patient support and communication, facilitating an exceptional patient experience to foster satisfaction, trust, and organizational loyalty. Your duties include welcoming and preparing patients for their appointments, informing them of relevant and required information, and clearly communicating the services they are scheduled to receive.

How You Will Get Things Done:
  • Obtain copies of insurance cards, driver’s licenses, authorizations, referrals, and other appointment documentation, and save them appropriately in the EMR system.
  • Perform demographic and insurance validation, and inform patients of privacy policies and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of reception and waiting areas.
  • Perform point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient care activities.
  • Collect and document vital signs, histories, and screenings.
  • Authorize prescription refills as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Greet all patients and visitors professionally and warmly.
  • Communicate any unexpected schedule delays effectively and assist with patient comfort.
  • Demonstrate kindness and compassion in all patient interactions.
  • Participate in brand marketing activities to engage and increase patient volume.
How You Will Innovate:
  • Collect patient co-payments, reconcile charges, and manage outstanding balances during check-in and submit batches daily.
  • Schedule patient and follow-up appointments per policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed, following the “Rights of Vaccine or Medication Administration”.
  • Provide medication and diet instructions to patients.
Experience to Drive Change:
  • Certified Medical Assistant or eligible within 90 days of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency required.
  • Phlebotomy experience required.
  • Current BLS certification preferred; required within 90 days of employment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or ER preferred.
