Healogics is the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, treating more than 300,000 chronic wound patients annually across over 600 sites. With an aging society, obesity and diabetes on the rise, and an uptick in surgical procedures, the number of patients with non-healing wounds that would benefit from expert care is dramatically increasing. The company aims to provide differentiated, quality outcomes through outpatient clinic partnerships.

Role Overview:

The Patient Navigator manages front office functions and is essential for the smooth operation of a dynamic outpatient wound care center. They perform general office duties to support the staff of the WCC.

All Healogics employees must adhere to company policies, hospital policies, accrediting organizations, federal and state regulations, and CMS guidelines, as applicable.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate with Center leadership to maximize daily patient census.
  2. Participate in staff meetings to support key functions within the Center.
  3. Greet patients and visitors; answer and route calls appropriately.
  4. Manage patient communication, including scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment reminders; coordinate provider schedules.
  5. Obtain and verify patient insurance information, including pre-certifications and pre-authorizations; enter data into databases.
  6. Collect and enter patient charges; verify and reconcile charges as directed.
  7. Prepare and transmit monthly patient survey data and documentation to providers.
  8. Assemble and maintain patient charts; ensure data completeness and signatures.
  9. Coordinate ancillary testing with hospital departments.
  10. Arrange patient transportation as needed.
  11. Maintain office and medical supplies and equipment.
  12. Perform other duties as required.
Required Education, Experience, and Credentials:
  • High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • At least two years of office administration experience, preferably in a medical setting; prior medical coding experience is a plus.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Typing speed of 60 WPM.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
