Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and experienced Front Office Assistant Receptionist/Scheduler to join the team at our busy medical practice. As a Front Office Assistant Receptionist, you will be responsible for answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, processing medical record requests and scanning medical records. The ideal candidate is very detail-oriented, organized, has strong customer service and interpersonal skills, is reliable, and works well independently and within a team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Answer phones promptly and professionally
  2. Schedule patient appointments
  3. Verify insurance coverage and eligibility
  4. Request prior authorization from managed health plans
  5. Data entry of demographics and medical history in scheduling and EMR Systems
  6. Request and/or download medical records when necessary
  7. Process medical record requests
  8. Scan medical records
  9. Assist front or back office when necessary

Qualifications:

  1. Must have at least 2-3 years of recent experience in front office
  2. Proficiency in using office software and electronic medical record systems
  3. Previous experience in insurance verification, in a healthcare setting
  4. Familiarity with managed care plans and insurance terminology
  5. Experience in managing patient appointments and office schedule
  6. Excellent verbal and communication skills
  7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  8. Ability to multitask and handle multiple phone lines simultaneously
  9. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  10. Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain patient confidentiality
  11. Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  12. Proficient computer skills
  13. English, Spanish (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time (Monday – Friday)

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
