Expected pay for this position is $19.37/hour. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Front Office Assistant provides exceptional customer service throughout interactions with patients, families, and support systems. They are the face of the office, and their interactions with patients and families are essential in creating a patient-first environment. This role helps create an excellent first impression of OSF’s services to patients, families, and other external customers, whether over the phone or in person.

They perform a variety of reception and clerical duties in a medical practice front office, adhering to department guidelines for scheduling and registration. They work collaboratively with patients, providers, office staff, and insurance companies to ensure patient needs are met. Responsibilities include communicating with insurance companies to determine patient benefits, completing prior-authorizations, managing incoming and outgoing patient calls, collecting co-pays, and scheduling appointments and procedures.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Customer service experience
  • Typing, filing, and telephone skills
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft applications
  • Excellent customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
