Job Title: Front Office Assistant - FMCOH Eye Specialists

Job Summary: Assists providers and manages clinical functions in the department.

Location: 14014 N 46th Street Tampa, 33613

Provides support with daily activities for ambulatory/physician office operations, including patient registration, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling, and patient referrals under supervision.

Essential Functions
  1. Schedules patient appointments according to practice protocols and patient preferences, obtaining pre-certification and authorization when required.
  2. Obtains accurate patient demographic and insurance information.
  3. Processes requests for medical records per policies and procedures.
  4. Ensures compliance with Orlando Health policies, procedures, and value statements.
  5. Demonstrates competency in office equipment and technology, and answers calls appropriately.
  6. Engages in activities to improve patient satisfaction and demonstrates a commitment to excellence.
  7. Interacts professionally with patients and families.
  8. Maintains regular, punctual attendance in accordance with policies and standards.
  9. Maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
  1. Participates in QA/QI activities.
  2. Awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and regulatory standards.
  3. Uses supplies efficiently.
  4. Assists billing as requested.
Education/Training
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification

None required.

Experience
  • At least 6 months experience in clerical, business, or customer service roles.
