Job summary

Happy Hospitality is seeking a strategic, hands-on Training & Development Manager to lead the development and execution of front‑of‑house training across our restaurants. This role builds comprehensive training programs, coaches managers and hourly staff, and continuously evaluates training effectiveness to drive performance and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of restaurant or hospitality management experience.
• Minimum of 2 years leading training programs within a full‑service restaurant.
• Proven success developing hourly employees and management teams.
• Strong knowledge of FOH operations, guest service, and food safety.
• ServSafe and BASSET/TIPS certification, or ability to obtain it.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve front‑of‑house training programs, manuals, SOPs, and playbooks.
• Lead FOH training initiatives, hands‑on floor training, and ongoing professional development.
• Coach and develop FOH managers and shift leaders with Operations input.
• Collaborate with Operations and Leadership to assess training needs and gaps.
• Facilitate training on POS, reservations, menu knowledge, and service standards.
• Measure training effectiveness using performance metrics and feedback.
• Maintain training documentation, certifications, and compliance tracking.
• Support recruiting and onboarding and career development initiatives.
• Champion hospitality culture and brand standards across locations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
