Job summary

Elephants Delicatessen is hiring a Front of House team member in Portland, OR. This full-time role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, operating the cash register, and preparing food and beverages to Elephants recipes.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary customer service and engage with customers.
• Sell and promote products; help direct customers around the store and menu.
• Maintain product knowledge and prepare food and beverages per Elephant's recipes.
• Keep a clean, orderly work area and assist in various FOH roles.
• Monitor workflow during peak hours and address guest concerns professionally.

About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, guest-focused Front of House team member. The Front of House team member is responsible for providing amazing customer service, cashiering, preparing, and serving food and beverages, complying with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can balance hospitality with accountability in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

• Provide exemplary customer service: task pivot and converse with customers
• Engage in active selling
• Sale and promotion of products; Help direct customers around the store and menu
• Maintain excellent product knowledge
• Produce all food and beverage items precisely according to Elephant's recipes
• Properly use equipment as specified by Manager and//or trainer
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Cross-train in various FOH roles
• Reinforce service, sanitation, and food safety standardsMonitor workflow and pace during peak hours
• Address guest concerns with professionalism and urgency
