Waste Connections is seeking a safety-conscious Front Load Commercial Driver to join our growing team in Phoenix, Arizona.

Starting pay: $28.00 per hour + depending on experience

$2,500 STAY ON BONUS

Schedule: Monday to Friday with one Saturday or Sunday per month

Start Time: 3 am (50-55 hours per week)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate a garbage truck on assigned routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience is preferred but not required.
• Read route sheets and service each customer or as directed by the dispatcher.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading, sometimes without helpers.
• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
• Interact courteously with customers and perform other assigned duties.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Extensive physical activity; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling over 50 pounds.
• Exposure to physical risks like moving mechanical parts; follow safety precautions.
• Exposure to weather conditions, fumes, vibration; noise level usually moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be 21 years or older with a clean driving record.
• Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
• At least 2 years of trash experience required.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Basic knowledge of truck components for inspections.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday, some Saturdays, approximately 55-60 hours weekly with paid overtime.
