Job summary

Overview

Waste Pro is hiring CDL Drivers for front load refuse collection vehicles. Candidates will receive a retention bonus up to $2,500 and a driver award of $10,000 after meeting criteria every 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive front load trucks on pre‑assigned routes to pick up garbage from commercial businesses.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, including cleaning and safety checks.
• Empty front load containers using lever systems, load waste onto the truck, and safely dispose of waste at designated landfill or disposal sites.
• Record mileage, fuel consumption, and route productivity sheets; complete logbooks and vehicle condition reports.
• Communicate professionally with customers, report issues or complaints, and provide courteous service.
• Inspect and maintain truck cleanliness, including washing exterior and clearing waste from the packer blade and truck body.
• Ensure safe operation of the vehicle by evaluating materials for hazardous content and making appropriate decisions.

Qualifications

• Class A or B CDL valid in the operating state, with a clean driving record.
• At least 21 years old.
• Knowledge of refuse collection policies, DOT regulations, and state requirements for commercial motor vehicle operators.
• Normal hearing and vision, with or without correction.
• Normal range of body motion; able to manipulate heavy equipment control levers.
• Ability to drive front‑end, side‑end, rear‑end, or roll‑off loading trucks, including right‑hand driver's position on certain equipment.
• Follow designated routes or schedules and understand oral and written instructions.
• Maintain written records and respond to service requests.
• Speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, coworkers, dispatch, and supervisors.

Physical Requirements

• Push or pull up to 50 pounds unassisted between 120‑150 times per day.
• Lift up to 50 pounds from the ground to waist height unassisted between 120‑150 times per day.
• Enter and exit the cab of a commercial motor vehicle between 120‑150 times per day.
• Bend at the waist and knees between 120‑150 times per day.
• Work 8‑12 hours in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).

Work Environment

Work occurs in varying temperatures and weather conditions, including heat, cold, snow, rain, wind; exposed to noise, vibration, fumes, odors, and dust.
