Job summary

Hitachi Global Air Power US in Michigan City, IN, seeks a Team Lead to manage a production line, allocate resources, and drive safety, quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires 3–5 years in shop-floor manufacturing, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs; forklift/overhead crane experience is a plus.

This is a front-line, growth-oriented position reporting to the Value Stream Leader and aims to develop future leaders.

Qualifications

• Requires 3-5 years of shop-floor manufacturing experience.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and other written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist Value Stream Leader and lead in VSL's absence to allocate resources.
• Lead daily Gemba meetings with support from VSL.
• Identify and implement best practices in safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost reduction.
• Maintain 6S standards and ensure proper material handling and inventory control.
• Ensure team has all parts, tools, and instructions required to meet production targets.
• Train employees on weekly safety topics and ensure policy compliance.
