Job summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in dimensional inspection or NDT.
  • Previous supervisor experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; an associate degree or technical certification a plus.
  • SAP and Microsoft Office experience a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Lead union-represented inspection personnel and answer questions on inspection and NDT.
  • Assist in training new hires and provide feedback during probation.
  • Liaise between shop floor personnel and management.
  • Ensure workforce is on task, safe and productive to meet goals.
  • Communicate performance issues and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Monitor attendance, time charging, and SAP records.
  • Ensure equipment is in working order and maintenance is requested as needed.
  • Troubleshoot inspection processes and gaging issues.
  • Participate in production and scheduling meetings to ensure resources are in place to meet needs.
  • Schedule department resources and manage overtime.
  • Perform monthly surveillances to ensure procedures are followed.
  • Monitor quality records for compliance.
  • Provide weekend coverage as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned by Quality management.

Position Overview

As our Front-Line Manager, you will play a key role in implementing and managing departmental goals that align with and support the achievement of the company’s overall objectives.

On-site in Euclid, Ohio

Your Day to Day as a Front-Line Manager
  • Front Line Manager for union represented inspection personnel with the ability to answer and support questions pertaining to both dimensional inspection and NDT.
  • Assist in training for new hires and provide scheduled feedback during the probationary period.
  • Liaisonbetweenthe shop floor personnel and management.
  • Ensure workforce is on task, working safely and efficiently to meet the operational goals of the organization.
  • Effectively communicate when personnel performance is not meeting expectations or requires disciplinary action, formal write up, etc.
  • Monitor employee attendance, time charging, and production records in SAP.
  • Ensure all equipment is in working order and available to perform work, submitting maintenance requests as required.
  • Problem solving or trouble shooting inspection processes, gaging issues, etc.
  • Participate in production and scheduling meetings to ensure resources are in place to meet production needs.
  • Schedule department resources and manage overtime to meet the production needs of the organization.
  • Perform monthly surveillances to ensure inspections are being performed in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Monitor production logs, data sheets, and other quality records for compliance with approved procedures.
  • Provide weekend coverage as needed.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned by Quality management.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required. A technical certification or associate degree in business is a plus.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevantexperience in dimensional inspection or NDT.
  • Previous supervisor experience is preferred.
  • SAP and Microsoft Office experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Pay: $70,000- $103,000

The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $70,000 and $103,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
