The State-of-South-Carolina Division Of Security seeks a Front Gate Officer to monitor traffic, enforce procedures, and oversee visitor management at the front gate. The role involves security inspections, inmate movement monitoring, and enforcing policy while providing escorts as needed. Two positions are available on the D1/D1 shift (5:00 am – 5:00 pm).

Qualificações

• U.S. Citizen is required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass a medical assessment.
• Must complete the Correctional Officer Basic Certification Course within six months of placement.

Responsabilidades

• Monitors and controls pedestrian and vehicle traffic, enforces policies and procedures, and assists in non-routing problems.
• Performs sanitation, safety, and security inspections of buildings, grounds, and vehicles; reports deficiencies.
• Supervises and verifies accuracy of scheduled visitors and ensures only authorized personnel enter.
• Ensures escorts are provided for emergencies or special groups or functions.
• Monitors inmate movement within the area.
• Familiar with search, contraband, emergencies, escape and use-of-force policies as they relate to the front gate.
• Knowledge of scanning, logging, and accountability of processing visitors and staff at the front gate.
• Knowledge of parole procedures for visitors and inmates.
• Performs related duties as required by supervisor.
