Description

This position is primarily stationed at the Guard Shack, which serves as the first point of contact for drivers entering and exiting the facility. The Front-End Warehouse Associate I is responsible for managing inbound and outbound logistics at the checkpoint, ensuring proper documentation, security compliance, and communication with internal departments. The role also supports broader warehouse operations as needed, including receiving, inventory handling, and housekeeping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact at the Guard Shack for all incoming and outgoing truck drivers
  • Verify government-issued ID prior to allowing entry into the facility
  • Confirm deliveries are addressed to DGM and check documentation (BOL, Packing List, Invoice, Delivery Ticket, etc.)
  • Receive, direct, and document truck deliveries
  • Check security cameras and report any suspicious activity to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) or Management
  • Conduct quality control checks and verify received goods
  • Move materials to storage or designated areas
  • Sort and store items based on size, temperature, type, or product code
  • Unload materials, verify packing slips, and report discrepancies
  • Assemble paperwork from Account Coordinator and stage orders
  • Mark materials with identifying details and verify accuracy
  • Weigh and measure freight; verify part numbers and quantities
  • Secure packages and apply required labels and markings
  • Conduct inventory counts and ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • Read work orders and shipping orders to determine required tasks
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts
  • Prepare parcels for outbound shipments
  • Use computer systems for inter-company communication and data entry
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to support warehouse operations
  • Handle tools and materials in accordance with training and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives
  • Support regulatory compliance related to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and hazardous materials classification
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1–2 years of warehouse experience (preferably in freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation)
  • Must have basic knowledge of DOT, TSA, and OSHA regulations
  • Must have familiarity with freight documentation (BOL, invoices, delivery tickets, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse software (e.g., C2C) Preferred
  • Forklift certification (12k capacity) Preferred
  • Experience using hand tools and tape measure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must be Customer service oriented
  • Must obtain Classification Certification (hazardous materials) within 90 days of hire.

Work Environment and Safety Expectations

  • Must follow all written work instructions and adhere to company safety protocols at all times
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as mandated by task and environment
  • Expected to promptly escalate any safety or quality concerns to management or the QHSE department
  • Must be able to navigate the warehouse safely and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor warehouse environment and be exposed to changing weather conditions, including hot, cold, and dusty environments

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods and perform physical activities such as bending, kneeling, and safely maneuvering heavy or bulky items
  • Able to demonstrate the manual dexterity to operate a personal computer effectively
  • Able to communicate orally in a clear manner
  • Able to hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as telephone or mobile phone
  • Able to operate a personal computer and standard office equipment—including telephone, mobile phone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, and calculator—for extended periods to create, review, and manage documents.

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, occasional Saturdays and overtime as required
  • Must be available to work extended hours or adjust schedule as necessary to meet operational needs.
