Job summary

Safeway in Stayton, Oregon is seeking a Front-End Team Member to ensure a smooth checkout experience for customers. You will scan items, bag groceries, and help customers quickly and kindly, while keeping the front end organized for peak hours.

You'll rotate between tasks like processing transactions, restocking supplies, and assisting customers with questions, all in a fast-paced environment. Prior cashier experience is helpful, but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older (or 18 years or older, depending on local/state requirements)
• Completion of company cashier or front-end training upon hire
• Basic math and communication skills required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist customers during checkout and provide friendly service
• Scan items, bag groceries, and process transactions accurately
• Answer questions and help customers with their purchases
• Keep the front-end area organized, clean, and stocked
• Restock supplies and manage carts as needed
• Follow store policies and checkout procedures
